The C.S.I Effect

C.S.I, anyone?

If you don't know what this show is about, you probably live under a rock. A television show that follows the sciences of finding a criminal, by looking for clues in evidence that can lead Grissom's team to finding out who the killer is.

The team of scientific researchers can find the evidence, fingerprints, hairs, and/or whatever trace of DNA they can find within a few hours, but that's not the case in reality. In can take hours, maybe even days to find out the information you need from a piece of the crime scene.

They can fit the plot of the story that would normally be a week, into a time span of an hour lnog episode. They make it seem like they can solve a crime that can't be solved for months, in the time span of an hour. That, my friend, is unrealistic.

Illusion of Perfection

Self-esteem crusher, or life saver? Photoshop can be many things, as well as USED for many things. Whether it be for the glossy cover of a magazine, billboards, even television.
Photoshop can be crucial to the well-being of teenage girls, by giving out the impression that regular, everyday women really looked like what they saw by what was released by the media.

Girls might feel like they don't meet the criteria of what people find beauitful, maybe even 'perfect'. I find that the media that uses photoshop is targeted towards pre-teens, and young woman. Their most likely going to be effected by the images everyone can see.

Mass Media: Has It Got A Hold On YOU?

We all use it, you can't even deny it. Text messaging, instant messaging, televisions, ipods, you name it, we use it! I even use it, but I guess I only use it keep in contact with my mother for when I go out, and to keep in contact with friends that I don't see that often. I, personally, use these forms of media every single day, and if I don't, it just means that I got grounded. There's no point in me saying that I DONT rely on it, becauseI really do, it's a great way to entertain myself, to relieve me of the creeping boredom coming my way. People think they can manage possibly a few days without technology (if they're lucky enough to manage without), me on the other hand? I can't. The media not only has a hold on me...It has a death grip, and it's not letting go anytime soon.
